The Rangoon trailer sees a rugged Shahid Kapoor and a suave Saif Ali Khan battling it out for the fiesty Kangana Ranaut.
The much-awaited trailer of Shahid Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Rangoon is finally out, and it does not disappoint. Vishal Bharadwaj is known to extract phenomenal performances from his actors – Saif was unforgettable as Langda Tyagi in Haider, and Shahid’s acting chops in Kaminey and Haider left everyone rivetted to their seats – and Rangoon looks no different.
Kangana plays Miss Julia, a popular film actor loosely modelled on Fearless Nadia, while Saif plays a producer. The film is set in the early 1940s, around the time World War II was raging and India was determined to get its independence. In these times of struggle, Julia is sent to Burma to motivate the soldiers. It is enroute Burma that she meets Shahid Kapoor, who plays a soldier, Nawab Malik, entrusted with keping Julia safe.
What ensues is an intense love triangle, which results in the feeling between the two men that “ab hum dono mein se ek hi bach sakta hai…main ya woh.”
The cinematography is astounding and complemented by the background score, transporting one back to the 1940s. Kangana is her firebrand self, and was not wrong about being the “third hero” of the film.
Rangoon is scheduled to release on February 24.
