Irrfan and Konkona Sensharma’s film Talvar continues to attract viewers because of its thought provoking subject.
Talvar continues to attract viewers because of its thought provoking subject. The film collected Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday (October 3), which is slightly more than its opening day collection. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:
#Talvar witnessed an upward trend on Sat, after national holiday on Fri. Thu previews 50 lacs, Fri 2.50 cr, Sat 2.75 cr. Total: ₹ 5.75 cr.
Irrfan has reunited with Konkana Sensharma on the silver screen after their 2007 drama Life in a Metro. While Irrfan is seen playing the role of investigative office, Konkona plays the victim’s mother in the film.
Talvar is a mystery thriller directed by Meghna Gulzar that is based on the 2008 Noida double murder case, in which 14-year-old Aarushi and 45-year-old Hemraj Banjade, a domestic help employed by her family, were found murdered at home. After the investigation, Aarushi’s parents Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Apart from Irrfan and Konkona, the film also stars Neeraj Kabi and Sohum Shah in the lead roles. Talvar released on October 2.
