Another first for Aamir Khan
Jan 27th
Filmmaker and actor Aamir Khan was planning a grand theatrical launch of the first look for his forthcoming film Talaash — the teasers of which were to be out with Agneepath that releases today. However, the actor has had to shelve his plans of the big event, after fire broke out on the sets of his TV show on Monday, throwing his schedule in complete disarray.
According to a source, a big event was being planned for the first look, as the film is special for the actors and the filmmakers in more than one way. “It’s after 10 years that Aamir has reunited with Farhan (filmmaker Farhan Akhtar) and Ritesh (producer Ritesh Sidhwani) after Dil Chahta Hai. Also Aamir has teamed up with two of his favourite actresses again with whom he’s had the biggest hits in the past — Kareena Kapoor (3 Idiots) and Rani Mukerji (Ghulam), so naturally everyone was excited about it and planning a big celebration.”
What made the launch even more special is that it’s the first time in India that a digital poster is being released for a film. “There are a lot of moving images that will culminate into a still poster. It’s being done for the first time in India,” confirmed an insider. Apart from releasing it with Agneepath, the actor now plans to launch it on the social networking site Facebook that the actor is quite active on. “He is always in touch with his fans on FB, so he thought it’s the best way to connect with them through this poster,” adds the source.
Also, the source adds, Aamir thought that it’s the best way to curb the fakes doing the rounds. “Ever since the film has started, several websites have been putting up fake or self-created posters for circulation. Releasing this poster online now, would keep that in check as people can have a direct access to the originals,” the source informs.
The film directed by Reema Kagti, that’s slated for a summer release this year, is a suspense thriller that will see Aamir play a cop. Buzz also suggests that it’s a love triangle between the three leads.

Hrithik Roshan – I learn one unique thing from SRK, Salman and Aamir
Jan 11th
Hrithik Roshan the charming and tough actor of Bollywood grew one more year older yesterday. The actor is all set to be seen in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Agneepath. He will be seen portraying the role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan. The actor has also done out of the box characters in films like Krish, Koi Mil Gaya and many more. He is all set to Krish 2 and has worked out on his body and shape. In an interview the actor talks about his health, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman. You were going through a bad health, how are you feeling now?
I have lost a lot of weight. I have realised that the best thing is on the planet is health. If your health is good then you can enjoy everything. I feel good now and recovering slowly. I was in bed for a month. People have sent me brownies and cupcakes, I had gained 10 kilograms but now due to my bad health I have lost all.
You have been declared as the sexiest guy, what do you have to say about it?
If you would have seen me 2 and half years ago you wouldn’t say that. I feel we all have the same body type it just depends on the way we carry ourselves. You have completed 12 years in the industry, how do you look back to your journey?
I and Daboo were doing a photo shoot this morning and this thought stuck our mind. He had shot my first profile and now after 12 years we are on the same day. The years have passed by but it’s again a new start. Do you feel Agneepath will change your image as an actor?
This is not in my hand. We are doing everything possible to make the film successful. I don’t believe in image change, I only do films as i like it and never think that it will change my image or not. As per reports you had a tiff with Salman and that was the reason you didn’t go for the Bigg Boss finale? This is not true. Bigg boss was never there for promotions, it was just created by the newspaper without my knowledge.
Have you taken any tips from Salman, SRK or Aamir?
I have taken tips from my father, I can’t think like him i am still learning. I have learnt a lot of things from Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir. I try to find one unique thing about every actor and take it up. What you have to say about Priyanka Kapoor?
She is a superb co star and a very special person. She is positive and is the best person to work with. When she is on sets the environment of the set is very positive.
Aamirs Talaash most awaited 2012 film
Jan 2nd
If trade experts are any measure to go by, this year seems cut out for Aamir Khan. The actor tops the most-anticipated film list with his forthcoming release, Talaash, where he plays a cop.
Talaash marks Reema Kagti’s second outing as a director. And although, her first, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd (2007), didn’t exactly set the cash registers ringing, Reema’s upcoming thriller remains widely awaited. Backing her this time is the Dil Chahta Hai (2001) team — Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and Aamir Khan— who will co-produce this film.
Co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema, Talaash is being made within a budget of Rs 40 crore and its satellite rights have already been sold for Rs 40 crore, six months before the film’s release. The excitement among fans is no less — three fake posters are already doing the rounds online. The film is expected to release on June 1.
Salman Khan, whose film Ek Tha Tiger (ETT) is being directed by Kabir Khan, came second on the list. It marks Salman’s entry into the Yash Raj camp, and will see the Dabangg (2010) actor with former ‘girlfriend’ Katrina Kaif after five years. Incidentally, last year, his films Ready and Bodyguard (2011) raked in Rs 130 cr and Rs 150 cr respectively. ETT is slated to release on Eid, which has proved to be lucky for Salman for two years — Dabangg and Bodyguard.
Dabangg 2 at number four seems to be another crowd-pleaser in the making. Poor reviews of RA.One and Don 2 are not reason enough to write off Shah Rukh Khan just yet, say trade experts. This year will see King Khan return to what he does best — romance. He will be seen in Yash Chopra’s untitled Diwali release, after the director’s seven-year-long hiatus (Veer Zaara, 2004).
Karan Johar’s Agneepath, which revisits the 1990-Amitabh Bachchan blockbuster, stands in fifth place. Hrithik Roshan plays the lead in this film directed by newbie Karan Malhotra. This Republic Day release is already creating a buzz with its slick promos and Katrina Kaif’s item number Chikni Chameli… Some trade experts feel, if this film works, Hrithik could give tough competition to the Khans.
Ajay Devgn’s Singham was his first film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 2011, and the actor teams up again with Rohit Shetty in Bol Bachchan, which releases on July 6 and is ranked number six.
After a string of flops like Thank You and Desi Boyz, Akshay Kumar desperately needs a hit. With seven films slated to release in 2012, and maximum money riding on him, it could well be a make-or-break year for the Khiladi. Prabhu Deva’s Rowdy Rathore (at number seven), releases on June 15 and could help break his jinx.
Method:
Fifteen top trade and industry experts were asked to name the three films of 2012 they’re awaiting the most. Number 1 film was given three points, number 2 got two points and number 3 got one point. Then these points were added up. Aamir Khan’s Talaash led by six points making it the number one film of 2012, followed by Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger and Yash Chopra’s next with Shah Rukh Khan.
