CHENNAI: India’s booming luxury sports car market got yet another entrant with the launch of the Lamborghini Aventador S on Friday. Priced at 5.01 crore, the new model features significant improvements in performance from the Italian car maker’s existing Indian portfolio, boasting a naturally aspirated twelve cylinder, 6.5 liter engine churning out an additional 40 horsepower (hp) over the earlier version.
The maximum power output from the engine hits 740 hp with 690 Nm of torque at 5,000 revolutions per minute.
Sharad Agarwal, Head of Automobili Lamborghini India said that the next generation of the flagship product is designed for customers who appreciate the Italian design ethics of Lamborghini. “Pure grandiose design, cutting-edge technology and excellent driving dynamics in the Aventador S takes this car to a new level,” he pointed out.
The new version is also a lot lighter, nearly 20 per cent, with a dry weight of 1,575 kg providing a weight-to-power ratio of just 2.13 kg per horsepower.
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h has reached in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 350 km per hour.
