JODHPUR: The Umaid hospital has relieved a male nurse who had allegedly administered antibiotic injection to 20 children without changing the syringe on Wednesday. He was a contract worker engaged in the hospital by the chief medical and health officer under the National Rural Health Mission.
Superintendent of Umaid hospital, Narendra Chhangani said that they had received a complaint that the male nurse Raghuveer Singh has administered antibiotic injection to 20 children without changing the syringe. The complaint was made by the attendants of the children in the ward, who had objected to the attempt of Raghuveer Singh. Then the attendants went to the staff on duty and complained to them. “When this incident was brought to my notice, I immediately designated a team of two paediatricians and the nursing superintendent to conduct an inquiry,” said Chhangani. “They spoke to those who had complained and on the basis of that, I relieved him with immediate effect,” he added.
