Back in 2014, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg had given a Q&A in Mandarin Chinese, and two years later, he puts out his first Facebook video with daughter Maxima and wife Priscilla wishing everyone for the Lunar New Year in Mandarin Chinese.
He talks how Priscilla and he are very excited to celebrate their first Lunar New Year with Max. He also discloses Max’s new Chinese name – Chen Mingyu. Chen is Priscilla’s family name and Mingyu stands for ‘hope for a brighter tomorrow for the world’.
You can watch the video here.
Zuckerberg also asks if his Chinese is bad. Well, as aforesaid, this isn’t the first time he has spoken in Mandarin. He apparently started studying Mandarin when he was dating Priscilla. In 2014, he conducted a Q&A in Mandarin Chinese at the Tsinghua University in China. The video had gone viral. It should be noted that the social network is banned in China.
Celebrating New Year earlier in January, he had yet another message for users. What caught everyone’s attention was his AI butler plans. Well, he has built a platform for communication and socialising, and knows exactly how to use it for just that.
