Jayalalithaa’s Cabinet to have 34 ministers

Including the chief minister there will be 34 ministers in Ms Jayalalithaa’s Cabinet. Besides her, there will be two women ministers.

The chief minister will handle the Public portfolio, IAS, IPS, IFS, general administration, district revenue officers, prevention of corruption, police and home.

The following is the list of ministers approved by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala based on Ms Jayalalithaa’s advice:

O. Panneerselvam: Minister for finance, planning, legislative Assembly, elections and passports.

K. A. Sengottaiyan: Agriculture, horticulture, sugarcane development and wasteland development.

Natham R. Viswanathan: Electricity and prohibition & excise

K.P. Munusamy: Municipal administration & rural development

C. Shanmugavelu: Industries, steel control, mines &minerals and special initiatives.

R. Vaithilingam: Housing and urban development..

Agri S. S. Krishnamoorthy: Food, civil supplies & consumer protection

C. Karuppasamy: Animal husbandry, milk & dairy development

P. Palaniappan: Higher education, electronics, Science & Technology

C.Ve. Shanmugam: School education and Archaeology

Sellur K. Raju: Cooperation, Statistics and Ex-Servicemen Welfare

K. T. Pachammal: Forests and Cinchona

Edappadi K. Palanisamy: Highways & minor ports

S.P. Shanmuganathan: Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments

K.V. Ramalingam: Public Works, irrigation

S.P. Velumani: Special programme implementation

T.K.M. Chinnayya: Backward Classes

M.C. Sampath: Rural Industries

P. Thangamani: Revenue

G. Senthamizhan: Information & publicity

S. Gokula Indira: Commercial Taxes & Registration

Selvi Ramajayam: Social Welfare

B.V. Ramanaa: Handlooms & Textiles

R.B. Udhayakumar: Information Technology

N. Subramanian: Adi Dravidar & Tribal Welfare

V. Senthil Balaji: Transport

N. Mariyam Pichai: Environment & pollution control, minorities welfare
