Hyundai Delays the Export of Creta to Meet the Increasing Demand in India

Hyundai launched the Creta in the Indian market on 21st of July 2015, the compact SUV is the talk of the town since it was first unveiled in the market. Due to its immense popularity, it has managed to grab over 15,000 pre-booking orders by the customers till the date of launch. Anyone sees this car, can be mesmerized by the amazing charm of the SUV. With the massive 32,000 units booked till date, the company is facing trouble in fulfilling the increasing demand for the SUV. So to cope up with the distress, the car maker has announced to delay the export of Creta for a few months. In addition to this, the company is also trying to aptly schedule the production of the car and to decrease the waiting period.

Hyundai is planning to raise the production of the SUV by 40 percent and complete the mark of 7,000 units per month. Currently, the company is producing about 5,000 units per month. To get the idea of the popularity of the Creta SUV, let’s take a look on the sold units. In the first month of its launch, the company has sold about 6,700 units of the vehicle and as compared to the Duster and EcoSport, the figure is much higher. Till date, the car maker has already sold over 8,000 units and has produced approx. 11,000 units. In spite of this, the waiting period for the Creta SUV still lies in between 3 to 9 months, that depend on the variant as well as the location.

Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at the Hyundai Motor India said that they are delighted that they are increasing the production of the vehicle to reduce the waiting period. The company has decided to delay the export from September to Nov-Dec. It is indeed a good news for the buyers as they will now receive the vehicle in a month or before that. He also added that the company had earlier decided to pre-pone the launch by few months that resulted in the July launch.

Hyundai Creta from the outside gets the stunning and stylish cues, the front features the triple slat chrome finished radiator grille surrounded by the swept-back designed headlight cluster. The bumper has the masculine appeal that features the air intake section while the car further gets the black color nudge guard with the sporty skid plate which gives the SUV a bold appeal, while the fog lamps are vertically positioned. Coming to the rear side, the car has the standard SUV body structure along with the swept-back tailgate cluster and the bumper too is dual-toned.

Stepping inside, the car gets an attractive design with a spacious cabin. The interiors are done with the beige and black color scheme with a lot of metallic accents. The seats in the top trims are covered with the premium leather upholstery while in the lower trims, the seats get the high-quality fabric upholstery. The dashboard in the car gets the very attractive edgy design that instantly grabs the attention, it houses a touchscreen infotainment system with the high-resolution screen and some control buttons. While the steering wheel comes with metallic accents and has multi-functional switches mounted on it. Interior features incorporate air conditioning system, electric tailgate release, keyless entry. While the top models gets the smart key with push button start/stop.

The car maker has introduced the stylish SUV in a total of six variants viz. Base, S, S Plus, SX, SX Plus and SX option. The car is being offered in 3 different engines, first is the 1.4 liter CRDi mill that can generate the power output of 88.7 bhp and the peak torque of 219.7 Nm. On the other hand, it gets the 1.6 liter diesel motor that is capable of producing the power of 126.3bhp and the maximum torque of 259.8 Nm while the other is 1.6 litre VTVT powertrain with the displacement capacity of 1591cc which can churn out the power of 121.3 bhp and the torque of 154.9 Nm.

Looking at the amazing response, Hyundai Creta is sure to give its rivals, a run for their money in coming times.
