ADELAIDE: Skipper MS Dhoni, accepted his mistake of sending back Gautam Gambhir which resulted in the latter’s run out. “That was a turning point. I gave him a wrong call and from that point it was impossible for him to go back. It cost us dearly,” Dhoni said after the thrilling tie.
Talking about the last-ball hit which fetched him three runs to share the spoils with Sri Lanka, Dhoni said he played with a blank mind.
Simons replaced by Dawes
The BCCI replaced bowling coach Eric Simons with former Queensland fast bowler Joe Dawes. Dhoni praised Simons for being someone who understood “each and every bowler”.
“Eric understands each and every bowler. He knows what they speak and what they mean. They may sometimes say something and mean something. You can only understand if the bowling coach has spent some time (with bowlers). Hopefully, the new bowling coach will also do a good job,” Dhoni said.
