DMK-Congress seat sharing stalemate ends

New Delhi: The stand off between the DMK and the Congress over seat sharing for the upcoming Tamil Nadu polls ended on Tuesday.

The DMK has agreed to allocate 61 seats, up one seat from what they previously agreed, while two more seats will be allocated to the Congress from the other allied parties of the DMK to meet the 63-seat demand of the Congress.

The two parties reach a consensus over the seat sharing issue after a meeting between Dayanidhi Maran, Pranab Mukherjee and Gulam Nabi Azad.
