Major Indian missile and defence systems were feared compromised as a Chinese group hacked secret systems of the Indian defence ministry and embassies around the world, a Toronto University report has said.
The researchers based at the Munk Centre for International Studies (MCIS) at the University of Toronto worked with independent computer analysts in the United States for eight months to monitor the activities of a gang of the Chinese hackers based in the central city of Chengdu.
The MCIS report on these hacking assaults on Indian assets is a shocking dossier of just how vulnerable this country has been in the face of a force that will stop at nothing.
