Amul hikes milk rates again

NAGPUR: Amul, a leading milk brand in the country, got dearer by Rs 1 to 2 a litre, in the region from April 30. This is a part of an all-India increase in its rates.

With this, Amul Taaza brand will now be priced at Rs 28 a litre as against Rs 27, the rates for Amul Slim and Trim has been hiked by a rupee to Rs 24 and the premium brand Amul Gold now costs a couple of rupees more at Rs 36 a litre, said RS Sodhi, managing director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) – the agency which markets Amul brand.

Amul has hiked its price for second time this year. Earlier in February too it had increased its milk price by a rupee.
